Hoi’s approach to breakfast is to keep it simple – minimum effort maximum return – so he typically tucks in to Vietnam’s traditional start to the day, a bowl of steaming hot pho, complimented by a glass of ca phe sua da, the country’s ubiquitously strong, sweet ice coffee available on every street corner. Easy and delicious!
Like many of our Fusionistas, Hoi relishes the opportunity to meet guests from other countries, learn about their life there, the many cultural differences, and share with them the customs and traditions of Vietnam. He’s particularly interested in different culinary customs and loves learning about what guests like to eat back home. He also enjoys making recommendations about what they should try whilst in Vietnam, such as a steaming bowl of pho, or an ice cold ca phe sua da!
He’s passionate about his role as Fusionista and takes his responsibilities seriously, ensuring that the guests under his care are fully aware of the Fusion concept and the energy he has to share with them. He considers it his goal to make sure his guests’ stay in interesting, comfortable and memorable, getting the most from the beautiful resort, the spa and of course the restaurants!
He remembers one instance when a Korean couple were struggling with strong waves in the surf, and were unable to reach the safety of the beach. He sprang into action and used his strong swimming abilities and fast reaction to support the lifeguard team in bringing them safely back to shore. The couple were extremely appreciative of his actions, but to Hoi it was all in a day’s work, making sure his guests were well looked after.
